the Hogwarts Christmas Spirit?
Over the last week, it had been growing much colder. The dull, near constant rain of the last few weeks had cleared, and each morning saw a glittering frost carpeting the grounds. Some of the teachers had taken this to mean "Christmas is coming", in particular Professor Flitwick, who had decorated his classroom with tiny, glittering fairies.
With the Christmas Holidays fast approaching, the atmosphere in the castle was fairly relaxed for the most part, but a couple of new Outsiders arriving had caused a few whispers. Thankfully, after the students had become a little more familiar with the ones already present, the whispers were largely wondering why they had arrived so close to the end of term, and why the majority were winding up in Gryffindor House.
Some of the students, however, were clearly feeling a little more hostile towards the new arrivals. It was surely not coincidence that the various suits of armour had taken to harassing the Outsiders - grabbing them, following and chasing them, snatching things from their hands and occasionally even attempting to strike them.
If they listened carefully, the sound of faint laughter might just be heard.
[Yes, a few sixth year Slytherins have decided it'd be a great idea to try and scare the Outsiders. Suits of armour around the castle have been charmed to bug them and them alone - some are just a nuisance, and some are aggressive, depending on who's charmed it.]

You...
What do you hope to prove by this?

[]
Not the ones here, anyway.

Then who's doing this? It's a spell, right? Who'd want such a thing...
no subject
[]
It might be a ghost! Or that poltergeist, but I think he's usually louder.
no subject
I suppose anything really can happen here....
Thanks for assisting. I'm Ichijouji Ken, first-year.

No problem! I'm Link, a third year.
Careful, I think it's coming back.

And there's more of these around the castle?

[Idly, he gets out his wand from his pocket.] What's the book?
no subject
Ah - Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century...the library copy.

[The book sails into his hand, and he hands it to Ken. Finally, his work on this spell paid off!]
no subject
Ah, thank you....
There must be a way to get this to stop.

It's a good thing she wasn't carrying much. She picks herself up after a moment and dusts herself off.]
Hilarious! Trip the blind girl. An incredible accomplishment.
[She sniffs the air, looking for a culprit. Either way, she addresses the air, in case the culprit can hear her.]
I will track you down. The stench of cowardice is not easy to mask! And when I find you...
[She grins. Big and wide and full of sharp teeth.
If you're a passerby, it might be a little disconcerting.]

Uh...
[]
What are you grinning at?

Just contemplating how to adapt an old hobby to a new environment!

Perfectly fine. Well, mostly. But what's one little suit of armor? I've dealt with worse.

Glad you're okay.

... Well, at least to me.

Which actually means that Pikahu totally fried that armor. It's just twitching at his feet]
... Oops?
